Cash In Transit & ATM Robbery
With several $billion being transported each year and thousands of couriers using a variety of vehicles, the scale of Cash in Transit (CIT) & ATM attacks across Australia is a major concern. The Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) have recommended SmartWater for use by the Australian Police services and by the Banking, Cash in Transit, ATM and financial industries (Click here)
To combat this problem, SmartWater has developed a new forensic product which can be incorporated into a variety of anti-theft systems. As a result, criminals who break into cashboxes or ATM machines fitted with SmartWater will unavoidably be forensically tagged. This will remain on skin and clothing for extended periods and allow Police to link offenders back to a specific crime scene.
The use of SmartWater has been welcomed by the Police around the world as another means to improve crime detection rates within CIT and ATM related crime. The technology is being deployed extensively by couriers including G4S Cash Services (UK), and Sunwin Services Group (SSG) and has already accounted for many successful CIT and ATM related prosecutions. Negotiations are presently being conducted with Australian organisations.
